Microsoft warns of IE7 lock-in with XP SP3

If you've been thinking about updating to XP SP3, stop to consider. The "bonus" of updating is locking you into IE7, if you already have it installed. Should you need to roll back to IE 6, for example to do some testing, you'll be out of luck.

Also, there's a warning for those of us who have installed the beta of IE8. It seems that there's a possibility of "instability problems."

I'm soooo sure this has nothing to do with the fact that the numbers for IE7 have been, to put it mildly, unimpressive.

Not sure about you, but this does not leave me feeling all warm and fuzzy.

Do Not Call listings aren't forever - Yahoo! News
Or, and here's a radical thought, switch the system to an 'opt-in' where only people who agree to the calls would get them. Wouldn't that be wonderful and much, much easier for people?

Don't hold your breath waiting for that dream to come true...

In the meantime, head on over to http://www.donotcall.gov and hope for the best.

Reroute Your UPS Package - For a Price
Ever wish you could change the delivery point for a package? It looks like UPS has decided to make that an option, for a price. According to the UPS website, UPS Delivery Intercept is now an option, but there's a "nominal fee." Whatever that means.

I just tried the site with a few tracking numbers but don't see the option, so I'm still in the dark on the fee. But with the holidays approaching fast, I'm sure I'll get another chance.

"Microsoft is planning to fight the Southern California company over the Live naming, claiming that Live is a term of "common connotation."

Oh, but windows, access, word, etc. aren't. Un-huh. Right. Sure thing.
