This is Bailey - a female, black and white cockapoo, and my furry little roommate. The information posted here are things I've learned and/or found in my quest to keep my pup happy and healthy. I hope you find something helpful or interesting here!
Dog pictures make you smile? Have veterinarians on speed dial? Find dog treats in your pocket or purse? I understand, I'm the same way. Welcome and enjoy!

Acid Attacks on Dogs in NJ
You may have heard about the beagle puppy that some creep attacked with acid.* Evil, sick, twisted, depraved, wicked, heinous, loathsome...I just can't find a single word to describe the person who could do such a thing.
I'm surprised and bothered that the news isn't pointing out that this isn't a one-time event. A while back another dog was found, in the same area, after another acid attack. Call me an alarmist, but this seems like more like a pattern than just a horrible coincidence. And where is the reporting on where the dogs come from? Are these family pets that have been stolen? Or someone abusing their own pets?
The good news is in both cases a local group (START II of Bergen County) has stepped in to help get these poor pups the medical treatment they need. If you want to make a donation, you can call them at: 201-843-8968 or visit "http://www.volunteermatch.org/orgs/org49333.html.
Keep a close eye on your pets, and give them an extra hug tonight.
*Fair warning - the stories and photos are hard to read/disturbing to view.

Those of you who know me IRL know that I am a dog person. Several years ago I got a furry roommate - a cockapoo named Bailey. That led me to looking into various resources for information on life with a pup. Here are some of the magazines I've found useful and interesting (hover over link for pricing and purchase info):
The Bark - a mix of articles and stories that explore the special bonds between dogs and humans. Features cover health, behavior, travel and recreation, as well as, art and literature - all with a unique, canine perspective.
Dog Fancy - information on canine diet, grooming, exotic and domestic breeds, medical news and tips for showing. Show schedules, new dog products and how-to ideas are listed monthly.
Modern Dog - a lifestyle magazine for urban dogs and their companions featuring expert advice, dog-friendly travel destinations, full fashion spreads, the latest accessories for your pooch and what's new in the doggie world.
The New York Dog - Vanity Fair for dog-lovers featuring fashion, health, nutrition, biting humor, great writing and a lavish look.
Fido Friendly - packed full of travel destinations that welcome Fido as well as fun and informative articles pertaining to: Diary of a Dog Chef, Fido Friendly Hotel reviews, Fido Friendly City and State reviews, Dog Trainer in Your Suitcase and much much more!
And for those of you who visit here for tech content...this was also a good reason to test drive Amazon.com's Product Preview features. And if someone decided to click on one (or more) of these and I get a little payback from Amazon, well, that's a bonus too! ;-)
