This book helps prepare kids for encounters of the doggie kind - teaching them how to ask for permission to greet a dog, how to greet a dog, and how to interact safely. Kids and adults can learn a lot from this one!

• MyDogSpace - MyDogSpace is an online community that includes pictures, videos, blogs, and forums where people share stories about their dogs and swap information.


• Dogchannel.com - This site, sponsored by the folks who bring us Dog Fancy magazine as well as many other pet-related magazines, welcomes readers of the magazine and all other dog lovers. The boards are filled with stories and helpful advice.


• Dog.community - is a place to share photos, videos, and stories of your dog with others.


• Meetup.com - You've probably heard about Meetup.com as a site for people to connect, but it also has a large number of members looking for dog playdates! Well worth a look!


• Dogster.com - is a great place to find other dog lovers and get answers, recommendations, and advice; find local pet businesses; and share photos, stories, and videos. You can also keep a diary for your pet there.

Happy Howl-a-ween Everyone!

Halloween is getting closer - even if the weather here in NJ feels more like May! If you hurry, and your dog is willing, you can still find or make the perfect costume. Or, if your dog is like my cockapoo Bailey, perhaps costumes aren't an option. Well, you can still have that festive puppy holiday flare with a Halloween Bandana.
