Dog Flu Reported in New Jersey - Officials: Keep Fluffy away from other dogs
Not good news by any means, but I also think the recommendation to lock our dogs away from everyone and everything is unrealistic. Sure, if your pet's health is already compromised, you may need to go to that level. But for your average dog, in good health, some common sense steps should help.
The right mix of sleep, proper diet, and exercise combined with extra hand washing for the pet's humans, staying away from people and pets that you think may have been exposed, and maybe even extra baths or using those bath wipes on your pet when you've been out and about can all help keep your pet healthy.
Or, at least, that's what I think/hope... ;-)

This is Bailey - a female, black and white cockapoo, and my furry little roommate. The information posted here are things I've learned and/or found in my quest to keep my pup happy and healthy. I hope you find something helpful or interesting here!
