Acid Attacks on Dogs in NJ

You may have heard about the beagle puppy that some creep attacked with acid.* Evil, sick, twisted, depraved, wicked, heinous, loathsome...I just can't find a single word to describe the person who could do such a thing.

I'm surprised and bothered that the news isn't pointing out that this isn't a one-time event. A while back another dog was found, in the same area, after another acid attack. Call me an alarmist, but this seems like more like a pattern than just a horrible coincidence. And where is the reporting on where the dogs come from? Are these family pets that have been stolen? Or someone abusing their own pets?

The good news is in both cases a local group (START II of Bergen County) has stepped in to help get these poor pups the medical treatment they need. If you want to make a donation, you can call them at: 201-843-8968 or visit "http://www.volunteermatch.org/orgs/org49333.html.

Keep a close eye on your pets, and give them an extra hug tonight.

*Fair warning - the stories and photos are hard to read/disturbing to view.
