Microsoft Releases New Internet Explorer Patch
This patch updates version 5, 5.5, and 6. There is some discussion going on that questions whether or not everything is really fixed, but it's still worth loading. I've run some tests and so far everything works fine.

Star Wars EP:II
OK, I've already warned you that I'm not exactly unbiased but...I loved it!!!!

I'm not going to give anything away at this point - just generalizations. The story keeps moving, altho a couple of the guys I talked to after the show wanted the "romance" parts sped up a bit (but hey, they're guys, whatta expect? ) - it didn't feel like a 2 1/2 hr movie to me, it is "middle trilogy" darker than the first, there's some very funny lines but they're fast so you've got to watch, er, listen for them. Of course, it's visually stunning, and the costumes are amazing. The fights are great - but Yoda is by far my fav! The threads that tie this to the later story are plentiful.

I didn't see an 1138 reference, let me know if you do! (There must be one, right?)

One little warning, if you're like me and tend to have motion sickness-type problems at Imax movies, VR games, etc. you might feel a bit "off" for a good part of the pic - there are a lot of flying scenes. But it's worth it!

FWIW, the press was around and working hard to try and convince themselves that "the lines are much smaller for this episode." Well, in a way they're right, there aren't lines around here for the shows - because the shows were all sold out already, we bought our tix online!!! Sheesh, they need to buy a clue.

Not only were all the shows sold out, but they added shows today which also sold out. And they must have oversold, because we (and many other people) couldn't get seats together in the room we had tix for, and when the management realized just how packed the rooms were, they opened additional rooms for us. Now that's service!

More on SW:EP II
Today's the day. Or, rather, tonight's the night. [smile] I've got my tix for the 12:01 showing in a digital theater, but I'm curious, how many of us are racing to see the new installment of the saga? And how many of us are near theaters with the digital projectors?

I got to see SW:EP I digital and was very happy with the way things looked, even though only part of that was actually filmed digitally. So I'm really looking forward to seeing how a 100% digital movie will look!

If you don't know where to find the digital showings, check this out:

Things That Make You Go - Huh?
On the one hand, NASA buying parts cheap on eBay is better than the $500 hammer we've some to expect from government purchasing. But on the other, it somehow makes me more nervous for the folks who ride the rockets.

Miss MST3K?
There's an effort underway to get Comedy Central to rerun the old MST3K (a.k.a. Mystery Science Theater 3000) shows. Please show your support!
