Yahoo Adds "Ask Us" Feature
File this one under "gee, this sounds familiar." Shortly after Google's announcement of the beta of their advice functionality, here comes Yahoo with the same idea.

I've taken a look (ok, several looks) at Google's site and am impressed by what I've seen. Guess it's time to give Yahoo a test drive.

Home Schooled Pet Get Passing Grade
Personally, I've always thought that, in most cases, pulling kids out of school to "home school" them was a cop-out. If you wanted to home school in addition to their regular schooling - fine. But it seems to me that there's no way a few hours a day at home can match the real school experience. After all, school and learning is much more that just what's in the textbooks, right?

Well, if you've ever wondered about how the home school process works, you might want to read about Missy, the home schooled 6-yr-old (dog).
Of course, this is only one case, and I'm sure there are people out there who did great in home school situations, but still, I think it's important to see both sides of this coin.

Macromedia Unveils Dreamweaver MX
On Monday, Macromedia made official what many people have been speculating - the next version of Dreamweaver will be a part of the MX branding we saw with the release of Flash. It will include the functionality of Homesite (leading to the question will the stand alone Homesite cease to be?), handle ASP, JSP, CFML, .NET, PHP, XML, XHTML, and RDS, improved CSS2 support, and much more.

They will also offer a "studio" package that includes Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, and Freehand.

My favorite things about Dreamweaver MX (so far): design time CSS and print code. Whoohoo!!
[oh yea, I'm working with the downloadable "preview release." If you are used to working with beta software, check it out!]
