Have Some "Musical" Fun! It's the weekend, time to kick back and get a little silly. You've probably heard William Shatner's version of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds by now, but there are many, many other celebrities who have graced the world with their attempts to sing rock tunes. And over at Fade to Black-Online you can treat your ears to folks like Telly Savalas, Mae West, Sebastian Cabot, and more "rocking out" your favorite songs. Go ahead, check it out. You know you want to... ;-)
Don't know what to get me for Christmas? Well, let me help you with that...

Mets trade Justice to Oakland for Mark Guthrie OK, I'm sure I'm missing something here...but why couldn't the Yankees have dealt Justice to the A's directly for Giambi? http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news/ap/20011214/ap-athletics-metstrade.html

Friends, Web Coders, and Clients...Lend Me Your Eyes Owen Briggs is someone I want to meet. Why am I telling you this? Because I want you to read his "Design Rant" on web development. He gets it. He really gets it.
Here's a quote: "My point is I didn't view this page as a layout first. I let the content inform the structure. I looked to the message to decide what the enhancement should be for visual layout. That's the trick: let your message inform each enhancement. And as each enhancement relates back to the core it's fairly easy to not lock out any browser type, because your message doesn't end up in an enhancement layer -- it stays in the core."

So by now you're probably familiar with the concept of weblogs (a.k.a. blogs); and maybe you've checked out one or two. [If not, get thee hither to www.blogger.com, start with the Blogs of Note in the first column.] But have you checked out pyRads yet? For just a couple of bucks, you can place a text ad on the www.blogger.com site to advertise your site. I've run a couple of ads over the past few weeks, and while it hasn't brought floods of new visitors, it has generated new traffic. Best of all, the ads are subtle - a rare and wonderful approach.
Have you gone over to nytimes.com to read "Interface Design Is Trickier Than It Seems" by David Pogue yet? Please do! http://www.nytimes.com/2001/12/06/technology/circuits/06POGUE-EMAIL.html More good news - you don't have to register to read this! ;-)
Note to Tim - I thoroughly enjoyed Harry Potter. They did a great job of presenting the story, and, instead of distracting, the cgi used enhances the movie. Give it a try! Just the ticket for the corporate layoff blues...
