MUcon So I'm at the Macromedia User Con in NYC this week. With the Alliare "merger" and new versions of most of the tools, this promises to be very interesting. But that's not what I'm going to talk about right now. I have a question...does "bad" news go over better when it's written down? Or maybe it's just people don't feel that arguing is an option that way?
Here's what started this...I went to check-in at the hotel. The nice person behind the counter told me all the wonderful things the hotel has to offer and how all I have to do is ask if I need something that they don't automatically offer. Then she pointed to a small sign on the desk and said. "We need to ask you to read this."
"Interesting," I thought, "is this some kind of test?" But being tired and wanting to get to my room, I complied. The notice informed that an extra surcharge would be added to my bill to offset rising energy costs. So the good news about the wonerful service I could expect was spoken, but the bad news was a sign I had to read, then I had to sign a paper that said I'd read the sign.
Maybe it's just me, but that seems weird...
